Start-up Denmark

Residence and work only in the approved business for up to two years initially, extendable in periods up to three years.

Who qualifies

  • The Danish Business Authority's expert panel must approve an innovative business idea before the SIRI residence and work application; ordinary retail, restaurants and small trade normally do not qualify.

What it takes.

Time
Normal SIRI processing time after business-plan approval: two months; up to four months when more information is needed.
Cost
DKK 3,060 SIRI application processing fee in 2026; company setup and living costs are additional.
The hard part
Obtaining panel approval of a genuinely innovative plan within the annual quota.
